Google One may soon fix its biggest multi-account headache
Code in the latest Google One app update suggests an incoming 'Connected accounts' feature that could let subscribers extend cloud storage pools and premium AI perks to secondary accounts without setting up a Family Group. The feature would likely keep photos, files, and Gemini chats private while sharing pooled storage and eligible AI features, though perks like YouTube Premium may remain exclusive to the primary account. Google has not officially announced the feature.
Key points
- Connected accounts feature would allow sharing of pooled storage and AI benefits across multiple personal accounts.
- Photos, files, and Gemini chats would remain private for each account.
- YouTube Premium and Home Premium likely remain exclusive to primary account.
