Reddit is taking a page out of TikTok’s book, and it’s not what you think
Reddit is introducing a dual-feed approach similar to TikTok's strategy. The update separates personalized recommendations from user-joined communities, giving users more control over their feed experience. The 'For You' tab will mix joined communities with algorithmic recommendations, while 'Following' will show only posts from subscribed communities. The feature will roll out globally over several weeks.
Key points
- Feed split into 'For You' (mixed + recommendations) and 'Following' (joined communities only)
- Users gain control over algorithmic vs. curated content
- Global rollout over coming weeks
