How They Got Duo Support in NetNewsWire
NetNewsWire achieved iPhone Duo compatibility through standard iOS development practices rather than custom work. The app uses standard controls like toolbars, navigation controllers, and split views combined with size class awareness, allowing it to adapt naturally to Duo's novel dual-screen layout. Apps built with these conventions require minimal or no additional effort for Duo support.
Key points
- NetNewsWire supports iPhone Duo's dual-screen layout automatically
- Achieved through standard iOS SDK without special implementation
- Proper use of size classes and standard controls enables easy adaptation
